In 1987 Mrs. Collins (f/k/a Nancy Feldman) was a happy, successful New York City bachelorette. Charles Bumgardner, then creative director of Bergdorf Goodman, suggested she art direct their Christmas catalogue. Nancy had art directed several successful still life catalogues for Bergdorf's but he wanted her to try a project with greater ambition. Always up for a challenge, Nancy agreed. She received sponsorship from the legendary Sun Valley Company and produced the fashion shoot in the spectacular Idaho Rockies. As the story goes, the project faced every form of inclement weather known to the great northwest. Her assistant, Kari Sigerson (later to become design diva partner in the fabulous shoe and accessory company, Sigerson Morrison) was hit by lightning but not hurt. Undaunted, the catalogue was completed and Nancy vowed to return to the majestic land where Mother Nature wields more power than a lipstick or the motordrive on a fashion photographer's camera.

She returned to Sun Valley, Idaho for a vacation, where she met her husband of more than fifteen years. (If you look closely at the reflection in her sunglasses you can see him.)

Mrs. Collins, now a merry widow, lives and works in the storied French Quarter of New Orleans where, occasionally, the mighty voice of Mother Nature still holds sway.
