Nancy Sharon Collins (f/k/a Nancy Feldman) designed this logo lock-up, graphics and packaging for The Museum of Modern Art retail stores. At the time, Mrs. Collins recalls, administration at the museum was hesitant to allow the use of the acronym, MOMA, on its own. It was through this obvious yet highly effective device, as shown in the orignal design by the Nancy Feldman studio, that the present-day logo lock-up was first used.
