At the close of 2005 Mr. and Mrs. Collins rescued one-third of a collection of commercial engraving files from the Joly Printing Co., Inc. in Mid City, New Orleans, where they had been flooded by hurricanes Katrina then Rita. Once moved to a safe place, Mrs. Collins stabilized them, then donated the Dameron-Pierson Collection of Commercial Engraving Plates to the Center for Southeast Louisiana Studies. where it is being archived and included in their database that is accessible to the general public. Mrs. Collins penned an article about this that was published in "Fall/Winter 2006."

Because of Mrs. Collins' interest in the engraving cultural and local history, she and her husband later acquired from Joly approximately 300 engraved monogram, seal and cipher dies which they digitally documented then donated to Hill Memorial Library at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.

In November of 2006 Mrs. Collins acquired the Dameron-Pierson collection of hand engraved crest, seal and monogram dies and has made arrangements with the Hill Memorial Library, Baton Rouge, Louisiana for it to be included in their permanent collection.
