When Mrs. Collins moved to south Louisiana she was inspired by the place. So much has been documented about its history; the music, food and hospitality of New Orleans, that she wondered, what about the graphic identity? Not often are the words "design" and the deep South spoken in the same breath, so, Mrs. Collins set about discovering just what makes her new home tick. The Real Mad Men.
At right are hand lettered titles from a 1962 audio visual presentation produced by a local professional organization in New Orleans. With a grant from AIGA Mr. and Mrs. Collins conserved and digitized the 30-year old reel-to-reel audio tapes and one hundred forty, 35mm transparencies.
