This hand engraved, French-folded card requires four passes through the press to achieve the different colors. Each pass requires that a new "counter" be hand-cut, the counter helps direct the pressure of the paper into the "cut" in the engraving plate where it picks-up the ink and secures the tell-tale raised quality that we so love in this exquisite form of printmaking. These are made of 100% cotton onion skin paper that is less than half the thickness of regular typing or ink jet paper, it is extremely delicate, almost like tissue paper! Each card is 4.25" X 5.5" and comes with a white envelope.
