Bid now for a unique opportunity to learn strategic business skills from veteran design and stationery expert, Nancy Sharon Collins, in the 5-hour class, Design & Book Arts Entrepreneurship. This is an intimate opportunity: Only four (4) seats are being offered in this fund raising auction. (See bidding details, below.)

Who would gain skills by taking this class? As some of us are aware, those enjoying “making”—letterpress, lettering, calligraphy, screen-printing, book binding, paper-making—do not necessarily also enjoy making a livelihood from it. This class provides language and methodology for managing client-based projects, exercises, and plenty of discussion about marketing, sales, rudimentary business practices, advertising and promotional strategies in the for profit market. Students walk away with real-world tools to use promoting their art and a feeling for what it takes to make a small business thrive.

This class takes place in New Orleans and is scheduled for early December. Date and time to be determined by consensus of the students enrolled.

100% of the proceeds go to LETTERS READ, the ongoing series produced as a partnership between Collins and Antenna.

LETTERS READ is a series of live events in which local performing artists interpret personal letters written by culturally vital individuals from various times and New Orleans communities and is an ongoing series presented by stationer Nancy Sharon Collins and Antenna.

BIDDING DETAILS:

Bidding starts at $50, suggested value for each seat is $155. Remember, this is a fund raiser, so we anticipate bids to go for much more!
