Last Wednesday, October 21st, 2015, stationer extraordinaire gave an artist talk at The Southern Letterpress talking about color matching systems used in various industries such as the graphic arts, product design, textile and fashion design, and automotive.
Based around Exhibition: Color Matching Systems shown from Sept 12 through October 24, Mrs. Collins discussed with students, design, letterpress and general community about what color means to us as visual thinkers, consumers, and artists. Collins brought several examples of color matching systems to the talk, and explained how the color samples in Exhibition were created.
Collins also shared recent harrowing experiences matching color for clients using Pantone Matching System.
